There are only 50 seats in the planetarium theater, which are available on a "first-come, first-served" basis. All shows on Tuesday nights are free. Two shows available. 7-8 PM and 8-9 PM. This is the 9th season of 'theatre under the stars' as the Shoreline Arts Alliance presents CT Free Shakespeare in five nights of performances of "Twelfth Night" with equity cast and crew and under the direction of Ellen Lieberman. A special addition to the performance each night is the 'living intermission' where members of the cast engage and interact with the audience with continued entertainment and music. Mattatuck Museum Arts & History Center, 144 West Main St. Youngsters ages five through eight years old will study the works of artists who painted the light and colors of summer in a variety of scenes. Students will create their own paintings based on their favorite summer places and activities. Classes will focus on different artists each week. Aileen Singleton and Carole Glazer will teach the classes. Ms. Singleton is an artist who teaches classes at Goldsmith’s Fine Art in Waterbury and at the Mattatuck Museum. Our local Music Together teacher, Liz of Musical Folk, is planning a FREE Music Together class on Thursday, August 13th at 9:30 am.

Take Dan Fogelberg, John Denver, James Taylor and sprinkle a little Robin Williams on top and you have Chris Rowlands! Chris travels around the country entertaining and teaching audiences about science and nature with his innovative and interactive programs. Chris creatively blends music, art, comedy and education into a high energy, exciting show that is loved by young and old alike! Chris makes all of his incredible puppets and his artwork has been featured in scientific journals, shows, prints and murals-and now he is performing LIVE at our Zoo!
Shows are Aug. 1, 2, 8 and 9 at 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm.

Stepping Stones Museum has two great events happening this Saturday.
11:00am Meet Author and Creator of Biscuit!Join local author Alyssa Satin Capucilli as she reads from her collection of Biscuit books. Children will be able to meet both Biscuit and his creator during this special presentation.
2:30pm Creative Kids Art. Be inspired by Africa by creating a wild animal collage framed with colorful stamp designs. Feel the texture of the animal prints paper and see the patterns around the frame!
August 3 – North Haven
Tom Sieling - Howl at the Moon. Picnic and Performance on the library lawn. North Haven Library, 17 Elm Street. Tom Sieling, widely acclaimed singer and songwriter will perform a participatory family program consisting of humorous songs about our world. Free family programs sponsored by the Friends of the North Haven Library. In case of inclement weather, the programs will be held in the Community Room (in which case space is limited and admission is first come-first served). 7:00p.m. (203) 239-5803
Also, don't forget about $5 Yoga at Fresh and the Upper State Street Farmers Market Grande Opening.

Our local Music Together teacher, Liz of Musical Folk, is planning a FREE Music Together class on Thursday, August 13th at 9:30 am.

Each semester demo classes will be held for families who wish to preview a class. Whether you’re coming to Music Together for the first time, or you want to return with your new little ones, demos are held approximately 2 to 3 weeks prior to the next semester. Moms, Dad’s, grandparents, and nannies are welcome to attend our demos and our classes. Just come prepared to participate, and to have fun making music and dancing with your child.
