New Title
You may have noticed that the title of the blog page "Where New Haven Baby Left Off..." has been changed to "New Haven Kids." We will forever pay homage to the website that inspired the birth of this blog, but to alleviate confusion, we've decided to make the title page read the same as the address. We hope this doesn't cause any confusion or inconvenience for those of you who have subscribed to the blog.
New Haven Kids Blog is growing by the day and we owe that entirely to our loyal readers. Thank you! And please continue to spread the word and keep us posted on events we may have overlooked!

Tag Sale Reminder
Tag Sale season is quickly approaching (ahhh...my favorite time of year!) and NHK doesn't want to miss a single one! Please let us know of any tag sales coming up by leaving a comment or emailing us at newhavenkids@gmail.com. Thank you!
And while we're on the topic, as we reported earlier in the month...
The Mothers of Multiples of Lower Fairfield County has announced their Spring Kids' Stuff Tag Sale. This is an awesome tag sale folks. I'm serious. This tag sale beats up other tag sales...and takes their lunch money. I'm almost hesitant to post about it because I'm scared to invite more competition. Spring/summer clothes, books, toys, shoes, equipment, and maternity stuff for sale.
Here's the low down...
Saturday, March 28th, 2009. 11am - 2pm. The deal crazy people (like myself) start to line up at 10am.
-Cash only
-Don't bring kids in strollers (in fact, if you can avoid bringing kids altogether I'd suggest it. It gets crazy in there.)
-$1 admission
St. Thomas the Apostle
208 East Ave, Norwalk, CT

Well This Is A First!
We here at NHK blog pride ourselves on our ability to find things to do for all you CT parents. Unfortunately, after googling the week away, we've come up with virtually nothing of interest for this weekend. I know! I can't believe it either!
So...Calling all parents! If you know of any events happening this weekend, please email us at newhavenkids@gmail.com or leave a comment here.

Easter egg hunt
The town of New Haven will be hosting an Easter egg hunt on April 4th at 10am on the Green. Click here for details. And I'm excited to report that there will be separate locations dedicated to different age groups. (This means the chances that they'll have a "grown up" section just slightly increased.)

Boo Boo Stick
My little guy seems to get a new bruise, bump or cut every day. We've actually had days when he looks like he just walked out of the final scene of Rocky (guess which character he is) and I'm afraid to take him out in public for fear that a stranger on the street will call DCF from her cell phone. Everyone tells me that he is just "that age." (Sigh...)
Well, if any of you have a toddler who is also "that age," Davies babies Boo Boo Stick is the product for you!
My son will never hold a cold "boo boo bunny" or ice pack to his head, but he will let me apply this cooling "medicine." And not only has the boo boo stick actually helped with swelling and bruises, it has provided the emotional soothing a sensitive toddler often needs. Just as we often tell our kids when we give them medicine, he knows this will make things all better soon.
At $10 a pop, it's not exactly as cheap as an ice pack, but it does last an amazingly long time. A tiny dab is all one needs, so one tube should be more than enough to get your toddler through "that age." (Again...Sigh...)
$3 Barbie
While the ongoing "Barbie: Good or Bad?" debate is, well...ongoing (especially in my household), no one can deny that Babs is an iconic figure, whichever way you look at it. In honor of her 50th birthday this week (Dang girl--lookin' good!), Mattel is offering her at her original 1959 price of $3.00. While supplies last!
